Prokompas Coaching & Training was started in 2022 by Teratai Hiep, an independent intercultural, DEI and English language trainer living in Leiden, the Netherlands. She specialises in supporting driven, highly-educated individuals and groups to and from new cultural contexts through her customised programmes. She is regularly hired as a consultant by schools and businesses in the Netherlands, US, Brazil and Singapore and trained professionals from around the world.
Teratai has a soft spot for training students because she began her career in Singapore in 2010 as a teacher and thereafter, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Education to develop curriculum resources, e-learning and training teachers on a national level. In 2017, she founded an international women’s networking group in the Netherlands that created a springboard for the many female expats wanting to find a job. And in 2018, she programme-managed an international alliance in the Netherlands, working with top-tier executives from different backgrounds and cultures and this spearheaded the building of Prokompas Coaching & Training.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Education (Honours) from Nanyang Technological University (NTU) and has a certification of competence for cross-cultural trainings with The Interchange Institute.
Originally from Singapore, she is quadrilingual in English, Malay, Bahasa Indonesia and Dutch and a country expert in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and the Netherlands. She loves birdwatching, hiking and cycling and can be found during her free time with her Dutch husband; scouting for the next rare bird species.
